2009 Corvette ZR1

The Corvette ZR-1 arrived in the summer of 2008. And was dubbed as a2009 model. It currently represents the ultimate Corvette. The main purpose of the production is to produce a split personality. Domesticated yet fierce in the track. American performance cars stayed true with the motto, there’s no replacement for displacement. Using the 430 hp 6.2 liter LS3 V8, what it did was supercharge it and increased the output to 620hp or 462 kW and 595 lb.ft. of torque or 807 Nm. They called it LS9. Today, it is Corvette’s fastest and powerful car ever produced by the General Motors. Amidst all the criticism the Corvette has received since its release, Americans support their beloved car, the culmination of motorsport refinement in over 50 years.

Corvette Z06

Corvette Z06 has actually been a closet fuel miser, but few people have known the reality. The Z06 is the current king of the hill ‘Vette, with a tire-shredding 500 horsepower on tap, and managed an impressive trip average of 23.4 mpg…a fast car is not automatically a gas hog.

Why is a Z06 a good buy when it comes to gas?

It’s science at work here. Weight and aerodynamic drag are two primary enemies of fuel efficiency, which explains why heavy, blunt-faced, traditional sport utility vehicles and minivans generally suck down fuel and the sleek, relatively light-weight Z06 burns conservatively.

So if you are the 40 something or 50 something baby boomer accused of buying a Corvette because of a mid-life crisis, you can retort by pointing out your Corvette gets more miles-to-the-gallon than your buddy’s Land Rover or minivan.

Brute Force

For a vehicle positioned in the mid-size SUV category, the Dodge Durango is quite hefty. To be more precise, it’s the largest in its class. Its dimensions are not quite full-size and not quite midsize, making it appealing to consumers looking for something in between CUVs and large SUVs. Upon first glance, the most obvious change from the previous model is fairly broad facelift. The fascia is defined mostly by Dodge’s now signature four-square grill and juts out menacingly, topped by a raised/curved hood that just screams red meat.  The ride quality is excellent and quite deceiving. In spite of  its generous size, the Durango manages to deliver both a smooth, tranquil ride and relatively nimble handling around corners; something different from a big American SUV.
